category: Intimate

The immediate assumption when Intimate or Boudoir photography is mentioned that nudity is the real description.  It is so not true.  While intimate photography can incorporate some nudity a better term for this style fo photography might be “Let;s Play Dress Up”.

In today’s world where we dress more casually it is fun to add a little “sexy” to the mix.  It has never been about what you can see. Instead it has always been about what you can only imagine!

Their slogan states, “Melts in your mouth and not your hand….”!  That has always been enough for me to play with it in my mind.   Some will be a little upset or put off by me and/or the image, but the truth is we all have secret sexual fantasies.   Denying them does not mean they do not exist.

Smile with me.   This is done totally in fun.  No plant, animal nor man was harmed in the production of said image.

I might even be tempted to do selective color on this image just to offend a few more people.  Again done in fun.

Studio D does intimate photography with women frequently.  It is a rare occasion that men wish to play.

A wedding creation flown in from England and fit for royalty.   There are not enough adjectives to describe the beauty of this wedding gown.   These are from the bridal shoot.  The wedding images will go up later.

The theme of the day was, “don’t step on the dress”!!  Two dads walking you down the aisle?  Let one hold the bouquet for you.

It was Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and every possible fairy tale of the white knight rescuing the beautiful princess all rolled into one.  Across the grass Kristy walked.  When she reached the head of the aisle Drew turned, and neither of them looked any place but in each others eyes.  Drew stood gazing at Kristy with tears rolling down his face.  She smiled the softest smile knowing in her heart that she had accomplished her goal… she was beautiful in his eyes. Captured by Tony Patrizi

Captured by Tony Patrizi Drew knelt before Jack and Elly speaking his vows to them and presenting a gift symbolizing his vows. A new family was created before all attending.

Oh the joys of an outdoor wedding when it is threatening rain.  We had sprinkles several times throughout the day right up to the beginning of the ceremony, but it held back on the rain.  They had just kissed for the first time, and Kristy just melted into Drew’s eyes.  I am sure they didn’t know the rest of us were there.   Pastor Gary Ellis officiated.

Oh, Internet!  What can I say?  I was madly passionately in love with the dress!  If I could have managed to pull it off, I would have stolen Kristy away to just photograph the dress over and over the entire day and night.

Ok……. let’s give some love to the other vendors that helped create this fantasy:

Story continued……..

Expression say it all.  A brand new family was created at 5:30pm July 4th, 2010 before God and in the presence of family and friends.  If the truth be told, Kristy, Drew, Jack and Elly have been a family in their hearts for some time now. Love radiates from them when they are near each other.  Their smiles are a little less brilliant when they stand alone.  It was our pleasure (Tony, David, Steve, and myself) to capture the day.  Blessings rest in abundance on this family.

The very capable Tita’s Linens By Claudia. I say capable because event WOW and POP always come from this company if Claudia is allowed to have her vision be brought to life.  Bouquets by Highnights.  Image by my assistant Tony Patrizi.  In case I forget to tell you, Tony, nice job.  I am going through your images now!

ha ha ha….. Jack and Elly are cute and cuddly children.  Cameras were shoved in their face all day by “everyone”.   His face says it all…..ENOUGH! AND WHY IS MY SISTER HUGGING ME AGAIN??????

This sneak preview ends with these two images of you in the arms of the other. You are uniquely made to fit together perfectly.  It isn’t an accident that you found each other.  When you are years from now into the future pull out the images we have made for you…..your heart will sing a love song  that you will be able to recall.  Your heart won’t forget.  It won’t dim.  It will last across time because love doesn’t grow old.

Love you both…..it has been my pleasure to be your photographer!

perhaps with a slip or two outside the lines…..

This was a no frills shoot without lights, backgrounds, or planning.  I used a 50mm and an 85mm using natural light.  I knew from the beginning this was only to be in black and white, and the young man’s face would never be seen.   My goal was the lines in any way they presented themselves.   I gave little to no instruction to him.   It was a 30 minute shoot.

I am quite used to doing intimate shoots with women without any hesitation.  I was nervous for this one. Just goes to show what certain curves do all of our imaginations :)

after the tease of two previous posts……..

Sunday we shot for a local wedding linens vendor…… “linens for any occasion” being the theme.

We were blessed with a young lady that loves the camera and the camera loves her. You would have to work hard to get a bad angle on her.  Add to handsome young men with great bodies…… a boat dock at sunset.. a glass of wine……. a diamond ring….. and whole host of people watching and cheering us on….. you have new images that you will start seeing for another company.

I am fairly certain we will all be together again along with another couple of guys wanting to be in front of my lens. For sure there were several hot looking young guys floating around Sunday.

Don’t get angry…….. go shop.   Sooner or later…….. he will surface

Images altered and cropped to protect and used with permission. Disclaimer up top and up front… Studio D does more intimate shoots than we ever post.  Privacy is of utmost concern including our printing resources.

Men are visual……..and ……. guess what?  So are women!  We do intimate shoots with men as well as women.

Big myth …. Intimate shoots are about nudity…. This particular person was never totally without clothes. The shoots follow your comfort levels.

60% of Intimate shoots are not gifts of women for men.   They did it totally for themselves, and are always amazed no matter their shape, perceived flaws, and/or age……. there is always beauty in the human form.

This photographer enjoys letting people feel good about the way they look.   Not the way the fashion magazines tell us we should look……but…. the way we are….and through my eyes.

Our little black books have managed to go on honeymoons, adorn pillows on wedding nights, and been held by people that are in love.

Tyler and Katie’s wedding 08/15/2009

There is a slew of images to go through, so I find fav’s as I edit here and there throughout my Sunday.  Normally I don’t touch images the day after.  The brain needs a day to recover after a wedding. :)  BUT!  This wedding is fun, and it just keeps tempting me to come work on it some more.   Katie just melts into Tyler’s arms making it so easy to capture images like the one above.    If you are from the Quad Cities you know this landmark bridge.  It seems so fitting to see it in wedding images.

Let’s talk about entrances.  This groomsmen is at least 4 feet above the dance floor.  Can you top that without seriously being injured?

What the boys can do…. the girls can too……

…and in a gown we might add .

Little sassiness to end the night.  Katie smiles and the world around her lights up.

The next image was a grab shot by Lexie.  We didn’t expect it.  Katie walked in with her dad, and when she took Tyler’s arm she did what has been a long time custom….. she kissed the groom before the ceremony started.  Katie was a little embarrassed, but all the guests loved the moment.  That’s her mom with her hands over her eyes. :)

IMAGE PROOFS MAY BE VIEWED HERE. PASS IS GROOM LAST NAME IN LOWER CASE

Tina is one of  my upcoming brides.  Her makeup for the shoot was done by Erin Seddon.  Soft, easy, light, playing to eyes and lips….. photographed beautifully.  Love Erin’s magic!
