Tyler and Katie’s wedding 08/15/2009

There is a slew of images to go through, so I find fav’s as I edit here and there throughout my Sunday.  Normally I don’t touch images the day after.  The brain needs a day to recover after a wedding. :)  BUT!  This wedding is fun, and it just keeps tempting me to come work on it some more.   Katie just melts into Tyler’s arms making it so easy to capture images like the one above.    If you are from the Quad Cities you know this landmark bridge.  It seems so fitting to see it in wedding images.

Let’s talk about entrances.  This groomsmen is at least 4 feet above the dance floor.  Can you top that without seriously being injured?

What the boys can do…. the girls can too……

…and in a gown we might add .

Little sassiness to end the night.  Katie smiles and the world around her lights up.

The next image was a grab shot by Lexie.  We didn’t expect it.  Katie walked in with her dad, and when she took Tyler’s arm she did what has been a long time custom….. she kissed the groom before the ceremony started.  Katie was a little embarrassed, but all the guests loved the moment.  That’s her mom with her hands over her eyes. :)

Just a fun little afternoon shoot session.  Sip a little champagne.  Laugh a little.  Intimate photography always has the individual expressing to me how nervous they were before and how easy it turned out to be.  Today’s mystery lady thought every woman should do it  so they could feel good about their bodies.  She is all set to do a second shoot.

Sorry guys……that is all our Lady of Mystery is willing to make public.  The rest are for her eyes only.

the rest of the story……

I am so like a little kid in a candy store when you give me a brand new place to explore and take along a camera.

The suites all have names, and we got to explore and shoot in the Gullwing. It’s my idea of a great place in the Quad Cities to stay.

What woman do you know doesn’t want a mirror to reflect her comings and goings?  Molli was no different.

There is a wonderful gas fireplace to settle in front of… perhaps with champagne… maybe a little coffee in the brandy?  It was way too dark or we would have shot on the balcony overlooking the water feature.  That is a Spring project.

Can’t you just envision a wonderful romantic scene on your honeymoon night in this magnificent bedroom?

I like this image of Molli the best.  When you don’t shove a camera in her face she has this soft but sassy smile that lights up all around her as it flashes across her face.

The Gullwing is fantabulous, but my mostest favorite’est hottest room is the bathroom.  If I had had 3 hours to work and had brought along studio lights we would have had a shooting good time in the bathroom.  Oh, baby! It is one romantic, sexy place for a honeymoon stay.

In the shower……….need I say more?   Deliciously large, glass walls……..

There is so much more to Jumers Casino & Hotel Rock Island.  It would be possible to find wonderful locations almost without end.

My thank yous to the staff in their great assistance as I worked.

It was a cold, icy, snowy day right before Christmas. Not one you really wanted to be out and about, but we had a shoot to do with arrangements with Jumers Casino & Hotel Rock Island and John Taylor Salon & Day Spa.  Out of the cold and into the gracious hospitality and warmth of the John Taylor Salon’s newest location.   You just sort of feel the world melting away as you step through the doors.

Molli and her mother Teresa were willing models for the shoot.  Teresa is the most organized woman I know, and she makes it just look so easy.  She had everything under control, and she knew exactly where everything for the shoot was.  They both settled into chairs. Teresa was having her hair styled, and Molli was having her makeup applied along with her hair look for the shoot being created. Everyone went right to work, and I was busy poking my camera in everyone’s face.

Teresa and Molli transformed for the shoot.    More of them in the next post.  This is all about John Taylor Salon & Day Spa.

I don’t quickly and easily throw around endorsements of other wedding vendors. This is one that I will tell you I approve of 100%.  They will give you absolutly wonderful service.   They will make you feel and look like a million bucks.  You, your whole wedding party, and/or your mom……..consider them for hair and makeup for your wedding.  If you are staying at Jumers Casino & Hotel Rock Island I bet you could talk them into doing the service in your suite.  Never hurts to ask.

I found this tucked away in my pending folder to be posted.  I overlooked it, so it is a wee bit late going up
